Lake Huvsgul: Eleven Day Fishing Tour Lake Huvsgul is known as one of the most beautiful and special places to visit in Mongolia. It has some of the purest water to be found in a large, freshwater lake. The area around Lake Huvgul is reknowned for its wildlife. Many different species of birds, fish and other animals make this the ideal place to experience nature in Mongolia. One of our main goals is to protect the wildlife in this area. For this reason we practice catch and release fishing. We are interested in working with people who have this same interest in protecting and preserving nature. Day 1 From Chinggis Khaan International Airport you will be escorted to a hotel in Ulaanbaatar. Day 2 After breakfast we will visit Gandan, the most important Buddhist monastery in Ulaanbaatar. From there we will go to the Zaisan monument and see the large statue of Buddha nearby. After lunch we will fly two hours from Ulaanbaatar to Murun, the capital of Huvsgul province. From Murun we will drive 80km to a campsite, set up our tents and sleep. Day 3 After breakfast, we will drive for about four hours. After crossing a mountain pass we will arrive in the town of Ulaan Uul. There we can have lunch and enjoy the mountain scenery. From there we can search for the ideal place to fish along one of the many rivers. We can also introduce you to local, nomadic people. You can visit a ger and experience the local way of life. Day 4 and 5 Fishing Day 6 After breakfast we will travel to the town of Renchinkhumbe. There we can have lunch and explore the rivers in the area. After dinner we can set up a campfire and you can fish as long as you like. Day 7 and 8 Fishing along the river Day 9 After breakfast we will begin moving at 9am and continue to see the beautiful area around Huvsgul province. Day 10 After breakfast we will travel until we return to Murun. From there we will fly back to Ulaanbaatar in the afternoon. There you can stay one more night in the hotel. Day 11 After breakfast you can choose from a variety of options: a traditional Mongolian music and dance performance, a visit to the State Department Store, museum or the black market. In the afternoon we will bid you farewell as you set off on your return trip. Total travel distances: Ulaanbaatar - Murun: 760km Murun - Renchinkhumbe: 215km PS: You will be responsible for your own fishing equipment. The weather in Mongolia is very changeable.
